Default 18" 996 or 997 wheels on a 997 S..WIll they fit?

I'm thinking about winter driving my 997 S, and the lobsters with Z rated tires are not ideal for that application.

Wondering what sort of winter options I have..i.e. can I put 996TT 18's on my car?, or 997 18's from a Carrera S...or Boxster wheels?

also..I went on tire rack's website, and it's suggesting a 17" winter package? -- will that work?

What are the width and offsets current wheels, front and rear? I am not that familiar with the 997 S OEM offsets.

Offsets are 57 front, 67 rear on a C2S. 18" 997 wheels work great and look great. I have a set of custom aftermarket 18" wheels for my 997S and they seem to clear the calipers with room to spare so I am not surprised that TireRack has a set of 17" rims they claim will fit; this is a reliable company so if they sell it I think it will work. On the other hand, 17s on a 997 would look pretty funny.

996 18" wheels probably look a little funny too since the 996 is a narrow body car, so you would have a big gap between the fender and the outside of the rear wheels/tires. A set of 996TT wheels would probably fit better although they might look dated or out of place on the 997. Also, I am unsure the 996TTs fit, I only suspect that they do.

You could also run 19's, since there are all season/snow tires available now in the 19" sizes for this application. E.g., http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes....ontact+TS810+S.

If you want to run OEM wheels, I have OEM Lobsters for sale and can ship them... PM me if by chance you are interested.

Keep in mind that having PCCB will impact wheel dimensions as well.

Will 997 C4 & 997 C4S wheels fit a 997 C2S?

I was thinking that i the rear wheels are wider, they might look better in the rear?

Yes the 4S wheels will fit if the C2 car isn't lowered.

The 4S wheels are not wider, but the tires are a hair wider at 305/30 instead of 295/30 for the C2 19" rims. The difference is that the 4S rims are 51 mm ofset instead of 67, which in layman's terms means they are 16mm further towards the outside.

The only wheels which are wider are the Carrera Sport wheels which are optional for all vehicles. Instead of 19x8 and 19x11, they are 19x8.5 and 19x11.5. Look at pictures of Edgy01's beautiful Cab, he has the Carrera Sports. He has also posted a useful list of the offsets and weights of each of the optional wheels.

Hi,
TRG uses 18" wheels to race on with their 997's.

wheelenhancment.com said C4 18" wheels will not work on a C2 car unless the fender were fixed to do so in the event of conpression. That is all I had to go on. So I bought a set of 18x9 and 18x12 CCW wheels and Toyo RA1 245/40/18 fronts and 305/35/18 rears to use as my track wheels. They worked perfect.

Hmmm... I spoke with Wheel Enhancement and was told 19" C4S will fit the C2 if it isn't lowered, but the guy called it an "aggressive" fit.

+1 on the CCWs; I just got my 18x9/18x12 C14s and ran them last weekend at the track with 245/35 and 305/30/18 Kumho Ecsta V700s. I'll be posting some photos from the event once I get them...

The wheels look nice but Wow, those Factory Carrera Sport wheels sure are heavy puppies. Good thing you got the PCCB to offset all that extra unsprung weight!
