Default Would you trade your 997 for this?

Tempting!
what do you all think of the Z8? Perhaps doesn't perform like a 997 but much more unique...

Sorry, some cars I would give my left ******** for. That is NOT one of them. Do not want to get banned, no further comments.

Always loved the Z8 (I wish they still made them especially with the new M5/6 engine) and they are far less common than 997's.
The power and sound of the M V8 is excellent but that engine does have an appetite for oil. The Z8's have exceptional build quality and were quite expensive for BMW to build
To answer your specific question; if you could find a one owner example with no stories, under 10,000 miles and with an extended warranty, then yes.

No. Then again, I wouldn't trade my 997 for anything other than another Porsche: I love the brand that much...always have always will.

I have to go in the "no" column myself. Actually, I did see a black one driving down the road last week and it did get my attention. However, the 997 does something for me that the Z8 can't. Now, an F430 is a different matter, but you would need at least 2 997s to close that deal.

It's more than just big engine that makes a car...

If I had a collection of 10+ cars, a Z8 would be one. It is one of the few modern German cars that will be a Pebble Beach level collectible in the decades to come. The motor is fantastic, and the build quality superb. Not my favorite looking (not crazy about retro), but it's one of the best cars BMW has ever built.

Beemers are motorcycles, Bimmers are cars, don't know why.

They just are.

I don't know if it predates Bangle but the Z8 is just about the only BMW in recent years which actually looks good. But someone ordered the red interior and made it unbearable anyway.
