Install on the Dension unit looks to be a total pain. Not sure I want to put $500 in hard plus $200 in labor for a feature that comes stock in a Mazda.

Oh geez man, no worse than an oil change, really.

If you have PCM/CD Changer, it's faster than you'd think. If not, it's still not that bad.

There is a guy in Miami (Gary from Sonic Boom Electronics) who was recomended to me by The Collection that has, for lack of a better term, "invented" a method by which an Ipod can be connected to any car with an FM radio. This is not in any way similar to the crappy Itrip type transmitters that I have tried and quickly declined to further use. What he does is, as he described it "hard wire" the Ipod signal to the radio and connects a (discreetly located) toggle type switch to disconnect the antenna signal to the radio. This completely eliminates the bleed over you get with the FM transmitter type systems. I have had him install this system in two 911's, my Chev Tahoe and my removable Harley Davidson Road King fairing. I rate the quality of this system as comparable to the built in jack systems that now come on most cars. Cost for install: $125. Gary can't be the only one out there who has figured this out.

I have with no problem. What I do though is to burn an mp3 CD using Nero. Other CD burning solutions should work equally well. To do this with music purchased through iTunes will require that you convert the songs to mp3's, either by purchasing through iTunes-plus, which is drm free music, or by buring the songs to a music CD, and then ripping them back to your hard drive using the iTunes (or other ripping software). It's not very difficult.

I am able to burn an MP3 disc using I tunes, but cannot get folders, just get a long list of songs in one folder

I checked "sort by album" but then get error 261. The Apple web forum says this is a punctuation error, but this did not help.

i will try Nero

thanks
