Default New Panamera

Hopefully not a re-post. Check out the new saloon.....not sure I will be going that route myself.

nothing new. but surprised they didn't mention the hybrid engine which will be available. yes, hybrid.

my boss has one on order with the 10 cyl CGT engine. Panamera or M5 or Quattraporte or Rapide? hmmm.... not so easy.

So where did he hear about a V10 in it? Presumptuous order when there hasn't been any announcement of the engines offered.

i can't confirm whether porsche has made any formal announcements, but there's been plenty of media reports concerning the range of engine choices, which presumably they got from weissach and all of which mention the CGT engine. to clarify, obviously, he doesn't have the car specced out, but he's got his place in the que for the v10 assuming it's available.

Do people actually like this magazine. Coming from the BMWCCA and Roundel it's a little bit of a dissappointment.

Those images are hardly undisguised.
I like the front....there's just something not so right about the rear part of it.

This car looks truly AWFUL.

I pray every morning that it's 90% disguised in these photos. Earlier speculative images looked far better. This dreadful thing ......well, I have no more words.

On Friday the 13th I saw a fairly heavily disguised sedan driving down North Point Street coming from Fisherman's Wharf to the Marina here in San Francisco. I first thought it was a Pontiac GTO but it seemed much bigger. I started thinking that it could have been the new Panamera. Anyone else see it? From the last few spy pics I've it sure isn't as pretty as the early artist renditions. The back end needs to swoop down faster.

I gotta agree, this is a pretty ugly looking car.

But I'm convinced that it's HEAVILY disguised and will look VERY different from the spy shots we've seen.

Seriously, look at the pics in the link above. The back looks just totally off and the profile looks way too porky, only the front looks half way decent. Even the Cayenne looks more nimble and aerodynamic than this beast.

BTW, draxa, what the hell is that thing in your avatar??

I don't think the panamera is going to be a winner in looks....besides the 911..porsche can't really get it together when it comes to designing cars!! Maybe they have to stop trying it themselves...Ferrari has Pininfarini (hope I spelled this the right way!) and the designs are fantastic....

I read an article a few months back where a BMW exec was interviewed. The topic was that in the luxury high price segments distinctive styling is becoming more important than sheer good looks. I.E. flame styling, bangle butt, etc.

It is a frightful looking vehicle. Why do the renderings (even the Cayenne) always look better than the final product?

Whatever it is, it scares me less than the alien panda bear that Leader is using for his avatar... <g>
