Thus far, I've seen 5-6%. The higher volume dealers have more flexability.

If you bought an order 997 and received a discount on your car, drop me a line with your name and dealer name. I'll contact them and use you as a reference. Thanks~

Chris Sanner or Chad Luzon at N.Olmsted in Ohio. I live in Los Angeles and I got the best deal from them.

Did you speak to Henry Rivera at Reeves? Tell him Mike Carter gave you his name.

The issue is a little more complicated, and based on what model you are looking for. I am not the greatest negotiator, but I think I do OK, and I do walk away if I don't like the offer. And no-one, and I spoke with some of the folks mentioned here, was able or willing to offer much off on a C4S order.

The thing that I heard from ALL of them, which is why I believe this, is that the C4S specifically is going to be in short supply. The rationale given for minimal discount was that IF it was on the lot, maybe, but on an order they wanted MSRP or close. Law of supply and demand allows IF the point re: allocation is accurate, their posture is understandable.

For the C4S, I've been offered a "token" (Champion FL's word) 2% at most, MSRP from others, and N. Olmstead, where Chris was very helpful and accomodating, couldn't even comment as their '08 allocation had NONE scheduled as of last month. Even the on the lot '07's are being offered at only 5% off, which is why I decided to go with an ordered '08: the savings wasn't justified to have a year older car.

Depending on the model, and when you are buying in the model year cycle, the flexibility will be dependent on the expected allocation, and negotiability from that point will be less on an order than on an in-stock car.

To me, Brian Wagner at Hennessey Porsche in Atlanta is top notch. An enthusiast...sharp guy...loves Porsches (and all high end sports cars). Please tell him Chris sent you.

I can't tell you how many times shared info among enthusiasts has made all the difference to having a car actually fixed vs being screwed by BMW service and also avoiding bad dealer sales and service. Long live the internet and car fanatics indeed
