Of course! The 997 back seats (covered in towels) are the perfect fit for my 15-lb. Norwich Terriers for the trip to California. Around town here in Dallas they're always in my old SUV ("Dogmobile").

Actually the question for me would be, have I had any car in the past 15 years that has not had one or more of my dogs in them. And the answer is no. They ride in my Mercedes, BMW's, Porsches, even Ferraris. They are my children, and they ride in any car I get.
I've yet to bring myself to let Ben ride w/ me. He rides w/ hind paws on seat (scratch leather), and front paws on dashboard (likes to see out)....or, head out window with paws on paint (scratch paint). And he sheds.
I was just wondering if a dog had ever ridden in a 997.

Could not agree with you more Terrence. That's exactly how I feel. However, I re-started this thread hoping to receive a recommendation for a dog harness with a seat belt attachment.

I have an Australian Shepard that loves to ride in mine, top down and everything. I just put a towel down on the seats to protect them. The slobber just wipes up....

My 120 pound Rott has never driven in the 997, but she did once take an emergency vet ride in my 83 SC. Not a pleasant experience. She's too big to sit in back or the passenger footwell, and kept bumping her head facing forward. So, she sat sideways on the passenger seat, which meant her face or *** were two inches from my face - not sure which smelled worse.

+1 - mine are my little pals and the amount of pleasure and happiness they get from a ride in the car is huge; to give them that in their short little lives is the least I can do. If I'm going somewhere they can go, they are coming with me.

I am surprised that no one mentioned the thread from 6sol where the guy living in New York removed his passenger seat in order to facilitate him bringing his Great Dane to work with him...pics of it too!!!!

No dogs in the car. I don't want my Bernese Mountain Dog's toenails to do to the leather interior in my car what they have already done to the wood floors in my house.
