Why did you buy a 997 C2S instead of a 996 TT?

Echoing edgy, i have no use for the horsepower in a 996tt.Hate the lights as well....reminds me of a lexus.I wanted a new car that i broke in so it was an easy choice for me.

Like the look of the 997 better
Nicer Interior
Will be keeping this car "forever" - thus feel that in the long run a nomrally asperiated car will be eaiser to maintain then two turbos...
Oh - they didn't make a "Club Coupe #of50" 996 Turbo...

I just took delivery last week of a spanking new C2S, and traded in my 997TT on the deal. TT felt heavy on the track once I started driving the RS. Besides, if I want stump pulling hp/tq I always have the SL55 K2 to fall back to.

I dislike the styling (interior and exterior) of the 996 and I didn't want AWD. A GT3 tempted me but I opted for a cabriolet over the GT3s many virtues.

I'm in the same situation right now. I'm not sure if I want a 996tt or a 997s. so far I'm leaning towards the 997s simply because the looks which is my priority, performance second and value a close third. But one question remains that is what bugs me. In the long run I would think the 996tt will hold it value better, I am right?

I drove several 996TT's before I purchased my 997C2S. Totally different feel. The 997 feels far more solid and put together than he 996 did. In fact, the shifter on the 996 felt more than a tad "sloppy" and vague. Paid a little more, for less acceleration, yet for a far superior vehicle.

Living in the US and specially in Florida, the extra power of the TT is not easy to use. But it was very tempting to me and I think that at the current market prices the 996TT is one hell of a bargain and a great car. So at the end my decision was to get the 997S, a wonderful car and probably as fast on the track as a stock turbo.
