search the "for sale" section. There where a few in the NY area if it's not too late.

check www.autotrader.com and look at www.porsche.com and do a search on what you want. There are also a few new 06's on some dealer lots.

Maybe this one. Is area code 631 close enough? Looks like the car has most of what you're looking for if not all of it.

Sandwedge - thanks for the link. Unfortunately I have already been in touch with the owner of that car and he has already traded it into the dealer in prep for his TT - I'm sure by the time the dealer gets their mark up on the car it's going to be out of my price range.... Thanks for looking though. I've been on a daily routine of checking autotrader, kbb, and ebay..... I've been looking for about a month now and I'm getting restless to the point where I nearly purchased a non S this weekend..... I resisted though :-)

You should also check http://www.cars.com. You will get a lot of listings that are also on AutoTrader, but about 30% to 40% will be listings not seen on Auto Trader.

Keep in mind the asking price at the Porsche dealers on preowned is alway very overinflated. If a dealing is asking 80k it's very possible that car could sell for 5 to 8 k less than the asking price. There are lots of C2S's at Tri-state Porsche dealers. These prices are negotiable, many of these cars have been sitting for months. I looked for months to find all 3 911's I've owned and I think the Porsche site has the best search function. Good Luck, also check www.6speedonline.com and look at the classified section

Went through exactly the same thing until about a month ago but kept resisting and glad I did. 100% certain I would be back shopping now had I bought a non-S. Saw one at the dealership the other day and once you get within spitting distance you begin to see things that are "missing". Got a hunch that driving one would enforce that impression.
One thing to keep in mind when weighing buying from a dealer vs. an individual. Some Porsche dealers "certify" their used cars which extends the warranty to 100,000 miles or 6 years whichever comes first. Not a factor for me since I never keep my cars that long but obviously valuable for someone who does. The guy in Smithtown probably got around $66K for his trade and the dealer will put the car on the lot for $77 or $78 which means you should be able to buy it for $72K. Based on what I saw and heard during 4 months of shopping and probing.
