Here are some other wheel weights for comparison:
Porsche Factory Carrera S (C4) - 100 lbs, 0 oz.
8.0 x 19 22 lbs. 4 oz. offset 57mm
11.0 x 19 27 lbs. 12 oz. offset 51mm
Porsche 997TT – 105 lbs, 4 oz.
8.5 x 19 23 lbs 14 oz. offset 56mm
11.0 x 19 28 lbs 13 oz offset 51mm
Porsche GT3 RS – 110 lbs, 4 oz.
8.5 x 19 24 lbs 5 oz offset 53mm
12.0 x 19 30 lbs 13 oz offset 51mm
So the lobsters not only look good, they are the lightest.

I used to not like lobster forks but after looking at many older p-cars and understanding how they are part of the porsche design heritage, I've come to like them and to actually be proud to have them on my car.

I love 'em, brings the look of the wheel up to date IMHO - twists and multi-spokes are looking dated.
Cleaning is easy with a wool wash mitt, and non of the spaces are too small to get into using this method.
The corners are radiused so dust build-up is easy to clean out, and the main spaces between the folks are big enough to get your hand in and clean the inside of the wheel each time you wash.

The lobsters are actually very easy to clean. I can get my whole hand in there and even clean the inside of the wheel. My M3 had RAC Monolite RG4's which were a mesh...now those were a pain. As far as looks you are absolutely right "to each their own." The only negative I feel about the lobster's are the small 8" wide front wheel, I wish it was 8.5".
