Cool Valentine V1 Installation???

Can I hardwire the V1 to the overhead console? Is there a switched power line from the rain sensor, mirror, or sun roof in the overhead console? does anyone have instructions?

The answer is yes. Now, if you do the search as previously suggested, you will even find the "how to do it" instructions.

Good luck.

Thanks, I have looked but have only found searches that show how to hardwire to the fuse box or the telephone wiring in the dash. I just wanted to know if there is a switched power feed in the overhead console. I haven't found a description yet on the board. Time to pull out the multi meter.

I have mine wired into the fuse box in a switched mode so it comes on with the ignition. I'm not sure about the overhead power in the console.

As Dario says, there are excellent how-to instructions, including pictures, here on the board. I followed them and it took me less than a half hour to do my install.
One caveat - you must have the self dimming mirrors to have switched power in the overhead console. Otherwise all the other power there is unswitched.

This thread that you're looking for may be the best post ever made to the forum... with the exception of 95Juan's "Burritos for white people" thread... but, I digress.

TTP, here's the thread link and the following is a photo of how mine came out after following the thread's instructions. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-forum/228360-diy-v1-switched-power-hardwire-installation-for-the-997-a.html

Good luck.

I just hardwared my V1 using the referenced thread as a guide.

I was going to use the 'cancealed' option but decided against it after wiring it up to the cabin light console. I simply turn the audio down; the lights provide ample warning and do not annoy me with constant 'noise'.

Pretty simple DIY process; Worked flawlessly!

ps. Too bad the V1 doesn't warn you about traffic cameras. Just got a nice 'automated enforcement ticket'; mainly do to my impatience. First ticket in many years. It knocked me off my bar stool when I found out the 'bail'.

Good Luck!
