Default A Good Dealership

I've been known to rant about dealerships but when I get really good service I like to post that too.

I went up to Albuquerque today to get a new battery for my Cab, which was totally dead and wouldn't even hold a charge over night. These people had me in and out in 15 minutes with a good wash. No hassle, polite helpful and a cup of gourmet coffee.

You just have to have good support for these cars and these people have given me a very good first impression.

Nice to hear Chip. I had a dead battery about a month ago. How much did they charge to replace yours?

"...a good wash..?" Are you nuts, or do you just like swirl marks?

I was thinking the exact same thing. But as careful as I have been, I have those dreaded swirl marks. Micro Fiber everything, and the swirl marks still appear.

Now that is VERY nice. My local dealership charged the full price for the battery plus $70 labor--it was well over $200 out the door. They claimed that Porsche has never replaced a battery under warranty for them, so they, obviously, pass that cost along to me the consumer.

No I am not nuts and there are no swirl marks.

There is so much calcium in the water where I live I always stop at a foreign auto body shop to have the Cab top washed correctly, when I am in Albuquerque. These guys did the same kind of work saving me from doing that.

That's my point. This dealer didn't try to rook me like that. They would of come down the 200 miles themselves and got it. But I opted to jump it and drive it up there. Ask your dealer sometime why Porsche honors the warranty in New Mexico and not where you are.

That may be it!!!!! I never though of that, but out here, I am sure there is calcium in the water. That could very well be the source of my swirl marks.

Thanks for the insight.

Glad to hear it.

There really is nothing so cool as a good Porsche dealership.

I've got to drive 250 miles RT to get to the one nearest me, too.

Let me add on to the positive comments for the ABQ dealership. The first year of my 928 ownership was 2001-2002 and they did a great job on service before I moved on to Florida. Even gave me a loaner when I didn't ask for it.
