I drive my C2S every chance I get, rain or shine. The only reason it isn't a DD here is that my work gives me a car to drive home and pays for the gas.
When I eventually end up back on the east coast (won't have the company car there), I was thinking of picking up a WRX STi for DD duties. It's AWD and relative cheapness would give a comfort level when it snows.

Commuting 70 miles is not the issue, the crux of the problem is The Big Apple! As you know, Manhattan is off limits for any sports car. . . pot holes, traffic, parking, etc. Get a Volvo S60, economical, safe, and refreshing lines.
Anytime I go to Manhattan, I bring my Volvo and leave the 997 S at home.
