!00 mile round trip from the OC to downtown LA. Three days a week I take a train. The other two days I drive a BMW 525 or a Tahoe. 997 is for the weekends only....GR

My brother has a 330xi. He switched out the run flats with normal tires. The difference is night and day. i think the problem with run flats is that the side wall is too stiff in order to support very little pressure. I think run flats is a bad concept. It's like asking the tires to 2 opposite things. In that case, why not just make a solid rubber tire?

DG -
I try my very best to drive 365 days a year.
I live in Boston and spent about 10 years living in Manhattan. I can vouch that the roads here are just as bad as there...drive it to work if you're comfy doing so AND you have decent secure parking at work.
Also MA drivers are equally as rude as NY drivers.

It's about 50/50 between the 997S and the A4... Depends on the day, the circumstances, etc.

What about a Toureg TDI V10? The leftover 06s were selling for $49K (down from $70K). Could pull a house off its foundation. Have you seen the picture of one towing the jumbo jet?

I work 2 miles from home. She's a weekend warrior. Just passed the 10,000 mile mark this week. She drives at a new level since hitting the 10K mark.

DD. I live in NYC and work just outside Boston. 4,500 miles in 5 weeks with a short drive to AL for PDE. Traffic or none, I'd rather be in the P-Car. Is there anywhere in the NE without potholes? 18s do make a difference.

Daily Driver for me. Live in LA, drive to a metro station and take the train the last 10 miles to downtown LA. 10,000 miles per year.

Weekend car and nice days for me mostly. No point putting miles on her for the morning grind to work when i have other things on my mind or im tried form a hard day's work (i have 12 to 14 hr days). Best to enjoy it on early mornings, open roads and get the full enjoyment out of it.

Mine is a weekend/week-time toy sometimes.....I have an X5 4.4 as my daily driver. Previously had an 2002 M3 which I loved and miss. When the weather is good or I am in the mood I'll drive the 997 on a daily basis (15-20miles) to work for about a week or so. I may pickup the new V8 M3 in a year or so after the hype has gone down and use that for a daily driver especially if I get stationed at Dover which is about 80miles from my current house and do a daily drive to base and back.

Too bad...what were you not impressed by? If it was performance-related, I'm actually a bit surprised since you said you had the S model as a loaner. The base V6 Cayenne is clearly underpowered IMHO--and that is the vehicle one generally receives as a loaner. But the Cayenne S certainly is faster and more nimble than any version of the BMW X5 (yes, 4.8 included) or Land Rover (yes, Supercharged included) produced. If you really have a need for speed, try the Cayenne Turbo. The fact that a 5000+ lb truck can move as quickly as the CTT does has got to impress.

Hi,
Good job. At least there is one other who is having
as much fun as me. Keep driving and enjoy the trip.
