Default Artic Silver + Black Carrera S (lobster) wheels

I'm thinking of getting my lobster forks painted black in the center (keeping the outer rim in silver). I would love to see pics of these on an artic silver 997 before I pull the trigger. Please post pics if you have any...thanks !!!!

Looks really superb !!! Thanks for posting. How come you are thinking of switching to 18"s ? Which style would you go for?

Did your car coem with those wheels or were they custom done? IF so where and how much? I too have been thinking of doing something similar.

It was a factory option and they are gorgeous. The paint is so deep on the wheels.

I am thinking about changing them because the roads out here aren't that great and maybe the 18's would be a little less jarring. Although some say that there really isn't that big of a difference.

I wouldn't say there is a huge difference, but I could tell a difference when I switched back to my 19's after running 18's all winter. Chicago streets really suck, so if a less jarring ride is what you are looking to achieve, the 18's might be a good choice. Plus, since you are in a cold winter/snowy climate, 18's will handle much better with proper rubber in the winter months. I personally like the way 19's look better than 18's, but that's just me. Black 18's would be a good choice.

I've been wanting to do this to my wheels for the last few months. I'm curious to hear from those who have had their wheels painted after delivery. Any problems with the paint? What was the cost?

I just had mine painted a few weeks ago. They used a clear powder coat on top of the base paint. Looks good so far. The local dealer quoted $1,600. I was able to get it done through a non-Porsche dealer (GM is a friend) for a lot less. Initially I was concerned that it would look too bling, but my local Porsche buddies convinced me to do it and I have no regrets.
