wouldn't mind catching up with some of you if a suburb meet is planned.....i just moved here from detroit as well.
don't have a porsche yet, but wouldn't mind checking some out and hearing some convincing arguments as to why i shouldn't pick-up a c6 corvette instead (yeah, i know....)
i'm in streamwood at the moment.

Heres my two cents worth to you:
I had 2004 Porsche Carrera, and when the new C6 vette came out, I felt it too beautiful a car to pass up, so I purchased a new one (silver coupe with glass top). It is a beauty of a car. However, for me and my driving tastes, it was too unstable. There were always little things to tinker with (squeaky noises, plastic pieces that would fall off, etc.), and I did not like the steering (handling). In addition, I think the steering wheel is too large for the car (I know this is perhaps just me). I truly missed the ride and handling of the Porsche. I would go as far as saying that I felt "unsafe" in the C6.
I am now back with the Porsche, 4S and love it.
Good luck and let us know how you do.
PS, you will spend a little more, but it will be well worth it.

Details of the Autobahn event from Shawn Young:
I want to extend a special invitation to you to come out for the Bobby Rahal Historic Races, Aug. 22-24.* This is a really rare opportunity to see some incredible, historic racing machines from the past 50 years. Car shows aregreat, but there is nothing like seeing these rolling works of art doing what they were built to do; head to head competitive racing on the Autobahn’s Full Circuit race course.

And the Lake Geneva thing:
August 24th is the Geneva Concours d’Elegance, which is the site of our 3rd Concours of the season. Not only is this a great chance to see great Porsches, this is a chance to see Pebble Beach quality autos in a great setting. This is a first class event not to be missed. To find out more information watch the web page.
