Default Window Roller Inside Door Panels

Do you find your side windows dirty, apparently from a window roller inside the door panels.

I am just going crazy, cause I do not want to put my window down. I have had this problem on 997S & GT3, any solutions?

Later,

Thre grease inside apparently takes some time to wear off. Be patient.

Not sure patience is the complete answer. My car is an '06 C2.

My dealer cleaned the rollers twice, then replaced them. Also said this was a known problem.

It happens to me too. I have an '06 C2S Cab. I had the same problem with my 996 so the problem has been there for almost 10 years.

LOL, another great mystery revealed...I'm not giving up my car to the dealer to take the door apart to solve the problem.

10 TEN YEARS

I had a fight at the place where they detailed the car (997S) because I thought they were using something to clean the windows on the inside. I have to excuse myself.

I guess it is worse in tinted windows!!

Same problem in my 01 Boxster S, but more pronounced on the passenger side.

Just use your handy MF towel to wipe it off.

Sorry. Wish I did have a solution for it. Guess Dan said it best when he said to be patient as it will eventually wear off. I also don't know if I would want them to tear apart my door just to wipe "the roller" (if that's what it is) only to have it come back.

Just keep a m-f towel in the armrest compartment and wipe off the smudge whenever you see it. Takes less than a minute, really. But I know what you mean, this **** shouldn't be happening on a $100k car. grrrrrr

LOL!

I have a '03 996 (I lurk here), and had some clear grease marks show up about the time my RMS blew, asked my mechanic to look at it, and they just wiped it clean. Good to know that it's a known issue, but man, my car is 4 years old! How much grease can there possibly be in there??
