Wahooo, i'm stoked fellas, just leased a 997 C2 Cab in guards red with black interior. Never though I would get a red car, but as soon my eyes landed on the Guards Red cab sitting in the showroom, I knew I had to have it.
Havn't driven it much yet. This is my second porsche and I couldnt be happier, my first was a Cayenne S, lease is up April 8th, so Im enjoying my last week with it.
I already headed down to Chemical Guys in Inglewood this weekend and bought a bunch of detailing stuff. I was going to go with the Klasse combo, but I had heard many good things about CG, so I wanted to give them a try. They actually told not to clay or polish the new paint, as it is not neccessary, but my gut feeling is telling me to clay it and polish with Klasse AIO, before I put the coat of CG M-Seal sealant and top it off with CG 50/50 wax. What do you guys think?
I made the dealer throw in the clear side markers, so the first mod I want to do is to paint the calipers red to match the car. Anyone have suggestions as to where in LA I might be able to have them done?
I snapped a few quick pictures in the garage, as it was dark outside. Hopefully Ill get some better pictures soon. Cant wait to get this baby out!

Welcome to the forum. I always have loved Guards Red. It's a tremendous pleasure to drive these babies out there on the open road. Enjoy and good luck.

Great color choice, but I am partial - 06 Cab GR w/Tan myself.
Glad to hear you had a good enough experience with the Cayenne to call this your second P-Car.
I don't think I would jump in and clay it (don't know how it could hurt). You can definately improve on the shine/depth of color if you lay down those polishes/waxes/sealers. Enjoy.

Congratulations and great choice on the color. I love my Cayenne S too, but I don't think you'll miss yours too much with this new baby to play around with. If I lived in LA (as opposed to the Wisconsin tundra) I would probably trade in my Cayenne and get a second 997!!

Thanks for all the kind words guys!
My gf was actually not too happy when I told her I wanted to get my 997 in guards red lol. She said it was too "show off-y," but one trip to the dealer and she joined the bandwaggon

Welcome to the Guards Red club! ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Take some interior shots too. Still debating if I'd keep the Guards/Tan/Black thing going on the next one (had two so far, love the combo)....or consider Black interior. Just don't like seeing all the dust on the dash.
