I find the M3 far more exciting than the R8!

+1 And I like how the exhaust manifold pipes in the M3's engines are so asymmetrical. I must assume there is a method to the madness since its BMW

Impressive. The E92/E90 M3 will need a potent and ligtweight motor to move around its portly 3500+lbs of girth...

As far as speed itll probly be as fast as the current 997S maybe a little quicker...Should take out the RS4 easily though. I did with my 997S.

That's my 2nd most favourite car. My only complaints are (1) i-drive, & (2) M3 body looks too much like the regular 3.

Funny that you say that.

Bangle did the E46 as well as the First Gen X5. As for Bangleing the brand BMW while on his watch has surpassed Mercedes to become the #1 luxury car maker in the world. They have delivered over 1 million units per year the last 4 years for the first time in company history. I'd say Bangle did something right though I am not particularly fond if his design many, many more in the market are.

Lets assume 3600 lbs...

M3: 3600 lb / 420 hp = 8.57 lb/hp
997S: 3200 lb / 355 hp = 9.01 lb/hp

You're right, Tron, that 1/3 lb/hp difference will really sway me over getting the RS4.

My hunch is more likely it will be in the 3500 range.
