Default 2006 997s engine noise

Hi everybody. Great forum. My question is this....... I keep hearing a high pitched metalic jingling noise from the engine at about 3500-4000rpm. it happens on acceleration or when letting off. Its not constant and sounds like it's coming from the left side of the engine since the car is a cab. It has been there since I drove it home, now has 1200 miles on car. Mechanic at porsche dealer said its the variable intake valving adjusting itself to accelerating engine speed and is normal? Well its driving me nuts!! Even my girlfriend asked me "whats that strange noise?" Thats when I got worried. Wondering if anyone else has heard this engine noise? Otherwise the car is awesome and is a true rocket.

Have the tech at the dealership take you in another car and see if it makes the same noise

Mine does the same thing. I'm pretty sure it's the resonator valve intake box. I changed the box to a evo intake it went away. Put it back last week for fun, it came back.

Thanks for the replies everybody. I'm going to drive another car this afternoon at the dealer. What is an evo intake? Is that something I should consider to alleviate the noise, and maybe gain a little hp bonus?

My girlfried told me the same exact thing. I had never noticed it until she commented. I have PSE unplugged all the time, and I never noticed it prior to doing that.
