Thanks for all the comments guys...the car is being shipped to me from North Olmsted so it's too late to swap them out. I was just wondering for comparison sake...

I like the red "PZero" on the side and I want to go with the 305 rear and a 245 front on the OEM lobsters. I will just swap out the rear to a 305 Pirelli, I will either try to sell the new 295's or hold on to them since they seem to wear out pretty quickly.

I am in agreement here. My car came with 19 inch Pirelli's. The rears were finished after 7000 miles, so to match all 4 tires, and based on Tirerack reviews as well as comments here, I bought 4 PS2s.

I think the PS2s are noisier than the Pirellis, and my own opinion is that the handling is similar and in some cases slightly inferior to the Pirellis.

Just a dissenting opinion...

I'd be interested to know how that goes if you swap up to the wider tyres. Let us know if you do, please, as it's something I've thought about doing, too.

I've had contis, ps2s, & pzeros. They're all the same on the street. Subjectively I like the contis (be hard pressed to explain it) but I seem to be in the minority.

Dave,
Maybe try this... Run the oem 295 rears to the bone and then decide if you really want to replace them with tires 10mm wider. I've found the 295s to be more than enough rubber for these cars...

I was told by a dealer that Pirelli would only distribute the 295 P-Zeroes to Porsche dealers. They said a deal cut with Porsche so only they coudl sell the replacements for 997s.....?

Ron's full of those sensical thoughts...

I have had the PS2s on my S4 and loved them, but I have PZeros now on my C2S and they are awesome. Absolutely zero complaints. They do well in the rain and cold (if you're careful), and stick like glue in the dry. I have 6,600 miles now since July and they have a lot of treadlife. I am what you call "easy" on my tires while I still have fun.

I have PS2 on mine. No experience with Pirelli's. Two Xcross days and three track days and the rear tires are down to the thread bars at 7,800 miles.

295 in my opinion is big enough. The car is set up to understeer, so it is really hard to spin out the rear. I think PS2 are very sticky and because of this, they do pick up rubbers/debris on track which make the tires uneven resulting in a rough ride and very noisy tires for about 300 miles after track days. Has anyone experience the same problem?

Dave, if you still want to get rid of your 295 Pirellis, please send me a PM.

There it is - the sure sign you were looking for to confirm the oem 295 Pzeros should serve you very well until worn out

Mine came with P-Zeros and 5k miles on them. I drove the care to LA from Las Vegas and thought the tires were noisy on concrete highways, less noticable on asphalt. When I bought the Champion rims I switched to 235/305 PS2's. I can't tell a noticable diffference in performance, but the Michelin's are definitely quiter. I'll be putting the Pirelli's back on next weekend for a DE for my GF. It will be interesting to see if I have the same perceptions after diving the Michelin's for 1,000 miles...

Yes, it will be interesting to get your impressions about the differences. Please let us know your thoughts after next weekend.

I had both Pirelli's and Michelin PS2s on my cars. Both are great tires but I prefer the PS2s. The Pirelli’s tend to get noisier as they wore out, other than that not much of a perceived difference
