Default Faulty Oil Temp Gauge?

I have a '06s, and I think there is an issue with my oil temp gauge? Once started, it remains at 100 and ~200 after about 10 miles of driving? Could it be a faulty gauge, has anyone else experienced this?

My oil temp gauge failed at "zero" (wouldn't even move when the vehicle was turned on) AND I could not get a oil level reading.

Check to see if you can get an oil level reading - it's the same sensor and will tell you if it migh be a wire or just the sensor.

BTW - it "healed itself" but still going to have them swap a new one on my oil change next week.

I'm not sure exactly what you're describing.
The coolant temperature will rise to 175 before the oil temp starts to move past 100 - this is normal as the oil takes longer to heat up. After about 10 miles an oil temp of about 200-210 is also normal...it will rise above that with either hard driving or if stuck in traffic.

if it was bad you would have a fault, the car moniters input and if the inputs arent what it wants to see you will get a warning

as far as your dealer swaping out a part jus becasue you ask them to when the problem isnt present.................good luck not only could that get them in trouble with pag and pcna, replaceing parts for the heck of it isnt good bussiness

OH YEA - Are you getting a Fault - no fault most likely no problemo (I had a fault)...

OR

Are you saying once the oil warms up it climbs right to tempeture (which would be normal). As mentioned - the water gets warmer before the oil...
