Default top rpm for 997S rev limiter?

At what rpm is the standard 997S rev limit set? I think max 355 HP is at 6,600 rpm, but I don't know what the standard rev limit is. The chart looks like 7,300? What is it really? Thanks.

Yep, but I swear it goes higher when you push it.

Totally, I know some cars have the rev limiter say at 7300rpm but the engine will go to say 7500rpm so it's not an abrupt stop.

That's what it seems. When I had my 996 I floored it in second and was not paying attention. It cut the fuel abruptly. The other day I did it in my 997 and payed attention to the red line area. Don't you know it went to about 7500 and no quick cut off. That is not to say that I make a practice of it, but second feels so good at the end...all that torque and ****. Come to think of it so does third.

Also keep in mind the computer keeps track of overrevs so when you hit the rev limiter, it is recorded. If you do it constantly, might be a problem with warranty work at some point.

It also depends on the type of over revs.

I would think you shouldn't have a problem if you bump the rev limiter as for warranty is concern. I mean isn't that what it's they for, so you don't go pass the damage point.. Now as for missed shifts over rev that's a different story...

It also depends whether PASM/Sport Chrono is on. The fuel cutoff at the rev limit is either a hard or soft cut depending on the setting.

Hi,
Is your avitor the top of thundhill. Did you keep the car

Yes - it's the "Cyclone" at Thunderhill. Kept it on track, no problem. If you hit the curb on the apex, it's not too tough to get airborn, especially if you know the photographer is shooting...

Probably not the fastest way through the corner but definitely dramatic. I was running slicks which allowed me to carry a fair amount of speed over the crest. You'll also notice the rear wheel is spinning faster than the front. Never got off the gas, even when flying!
