Default Fabspeed bypass vs PSE on all the time

If one keeps the PSE on all the time, would this not be equvalent to having bypass pipes such as the Fabspeed set? This seems more economical in both cost and weight categories.

The bypass pipes are much louder, and not to mention the ton of weight you would lose. Fabspeed claims 12hp from these as well...

As I understand it bypass pipes are just that - they bypass having a muffler. It's basically a straight pipe, which is probably illegal for street use in every state in the nation. PSE is just a "sporty sounding" exhaust.

I think if you compare PSE on with an aftermarket muffler like Tubi, AWE, Fabspeed, or any of the others, that would be closer. Sport exhaust vs. sport exhaust. Note that PSE is expensive and very heavy and is not freer flowing than stock, where the aftermarket mufflers are lighter, freer flowing (thus the claims of power gains), and less expensive (well, except maybe the Tubi - you do get what you pay for but you have to like very loud).

IMO...

-PSE is a REAL dual quad exhaust system.
-PSE sounds is unique... ALL Porsche.
-PSE does not void warranty.
-PSE equals Porsche value (why compromise the integrity of your Porsche?)
-PSE on/off button or run open ALL the time.

Had Fabspeed in my 06 C2S Cab and yanked it inside of a few weeks. The drone (2500-3500RPM) was maddening. Installed PSE, never looked back. The sound is truly Porsche.

After market mufflers do drone but I have Fabspeed and only notice some droning sound from 1700-2200rpms. No drone at hi-way speeds. My rpms are usually above 2200 anyway so I nor my wife have any issues with the Fabspeed. Boy does the car sound awesome from 5000rpm on up...the closest thing to a cup car sound I've heard out of a stock Carrera.

So what's the verdict?? Does the Fabspeed drone on the highway or not? I have a C4S cab 6-spd and am afraid of droning!!

Two people said it did (drone) and nobody said otherwise. That should answer your question.

I dont know what you people are talking about. I have the fabspeed muffler bypass pipes and its a perfect sound, sometimes I wish it was louder. In no way it is annoying. I originally had the PSE and it was some ***** ****. And I cant even tell the difference as far as volume with a stock porsche and one with an aftermarket muffler system.
