Default Dealer intel on 2007 Targa 4s ?

I'm new here, but I'm seriously considering making the life long dream come true with the purchase of a new Targa 4s. Earning a decent bonus that will keep me out of the poor house, and the recent successful Gateway 500 integrations put it over the finish line for me.

Does anyone have any intel on how much negotiating leverage I might have with dealers? I'm willing to pick it up anywhere and drive home to Texas, but am very particular to the Speed Yellow among other specific options.

Many thanks.

Default I bought a slightly used C2S (2500 miles)

for a significant savings. I think that there is someone on this form selling a slightly used Targa with 600 miles. Do a search.

Good luck and you will love the car!

I don't have any specific numbers but Targa models traditionally sell poorly and a dealer may be more willing to deal on them, especially now in the dead of winter.

5-7%, if you shop around for the best deal.

Good luck with your search... I am very partial to Speed Yella. = )

I just tried to pm you but you have chosen not to get them. Speed Yellow is a great color and you should be able to do well as far as discount goes. Good luck.

Don't know where you are in Texas, but I got a very good deal from Roger Beasley Porsche in Austin. Did much better there than I could do in Houston. I'd highly recommend you check them out, and if you want to PM or email me, I'll give you the salesman's name. Also, do a search on pricing or discounts and you'll get an idea of what people are paying. It depends on a lot of stuff, but I'd say discounts are ranging from 5 to 10% for the most part.

You should definitely contact Chris if you are serious. He has done some nice deals for folks from what I've read.

Thanks DSUNNYM1, that's a beautiful Targa, but for me it is Speed Yellow only.

I visited with a few dealers in the DC area about the new Targa. One stated that they would be "very rare" and thus they "would not budge" from the sticker price, especially if we order one rather than buy form thelot. Another emphasized their rarity but didn't say anything about pricing. And yet another hinted they would move a bit. Of course, these are just initial conversations so how it finally ends up will be different.

No modern Porsche is rare with maybe the exception of a GT3 RS. Keep digging and you'll get your discount. The Targa in the right color is a gorgeous car. White and red look particularly good. Haven't seen a SY one yet.

Really play it off as though you're not wanting a yellow and the dealer needs to persuade you to get it.. Yellow is hard to move off the lot, and Targa's too.. If you really need help go to www.switchcars.com .. Doug Tabbut from there can more than likely find a car for your at about 5-7% off MSRP

Or you could try being honest and knowledgable about the car. That works too....
LOL
