Hey Everyone,

My 2001 Carrera just got off the truck last Friday! This past week has been one of the best in my life. She's an amazing machine, but demands respect. I've already spun her out once trying to punch it around a corner (didn't hit anything). Mixed it up with other 997s on the highway and done several white-knuckle mountain runs. I can believe I have the car I wanted since I was 13. She's my soulmate! Attached a pic.

Far be it from me to criticize aggressive street driving and you are correct that your new 996 demands respect but if you have “already spun her out once trying to punch it around a corner” and are a white knuckle mountain driver may I suggest you take some high performance driving lessons before you kill yourself or some innocent bystander?

Most definetely! The next AX event around here is March 17th, and I'll certainly be there bright and early. After that I'll hit the track with my local PCA chapter. In a way that spin out was a good thing - it's kept me veery careful ever since

The wheels are one of my favorite aspects of the car. I believe they are a Porsche upgrade. Here's a close look, they're just beautiful.
