Thanks for the pics Chris. Wish we had a road like that out east. Absolutely breath taking.
Where else can you find 74 miles of "S" curves?

It's not Hwy 1 but not bad.

Here is the restaurant and infinity pool (a bar) at the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur - these are honeymoon shots. We loved that place.

Don't do bars, but boy did we eat well. Our highlights were the dinner at Sierra Mar (Post Ranch) and Big Sur Bakery. We found we kept going back to BSB over and over again for the pastries and incredible munchies. Cielo at Ventana was very good also. Nepenthe which everyone over at Chowhound recommended was probably one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. Didn't hurt that the view was heavenly.

Stay at Ventana Inn or Post Ranch Inn. Get up early in the morning and drive south. For the next 15 miles you will be in bliss with spectacular coast view and cliffs and nice curves to test your car.

Don't miss a drink at Highland's Inn. The view from the bar is spectacular.

We are leaving for the Ventana Inn on Wednesday! Cielo for dinner Wed. night and Post Ranch Inn Thursday. Friday its up to Carmel at the Flying Fish.

Thanks for posting all of the great photos, we too are looking forward to the roadtrip. Haven't decided on which car to take! I guess it will depend on the amount of stuff we take

I will post photos on our return...

Enjoy! Make SURE you try Big Sur Bakery for one breakfast and one dinner. You won't be disappointed.

Don't forget to take a short excursion to Point Lobos just south of Monterey for a look and short hike. (Stretch your legs). Also, Seventeen Mile drive is a great place to see the surf and some beautiful scenery.

You guys are making me want to go back there soooooo badly. Fifth anniversary is just two years away - back to the Post Ranch,....maybe we'll rent a 911 cab this time. Last shot here is the Monterrey aquarium:

Great photos, Dave. The one of you and Mrs. Coochas in the pool is especially nice!

Just did Virginia's Skyline Drive in my 997. Got a couple of good shots, and a great drive. The park is empty this time of year. Perfect for Porsche.
