I was also looking at the carbon fiber wheels, but these are BIG $$ and getting curb rash would really destroy them.

Here's my car in the dealer on the day I bought it. The car was CPO so I don't know the history of the wheels.
Can anyone tell me about these black wheels? Is this a factory option? Upgrade painted by the dealer? Black wheels are not showing on the window sticker.

Very nice! Thanks gents. JW-as far as I understand you can get them as a factory option or have them painted through the dealer or some local shops. I'm having mine painted through my dealers sub locally.

The car was originally owned/driven by the son of the guy who owns the dealership (Chambers). It was ordered with those black rims as a factory option. It has lots of other great options too, like full leather. I think it is one of the best looking 997's I've seen.
When my neighbor bought the car it had about 4500 miles on it. He added NAV to the already installed PCM system. (Not sure if the dealer left that in there for you). I seem to recall it cost about $3000, so if it's still in the PCM, you got a little bonus.
My neighbor kept the car for about a year and half or so and then traded it on a new Cayenne S Tit.Ed, which is also a really sweet ride. A few months after he traded it, you bought it from Chambers. Too bad the two of you didn't meet. You probably could have both saved a bundle. (They gave him about $62 on the car in trade for the CS Tit.Ed).
BTW, how is the 997 treating you? Any issues?

Yes, I remember hearing from you before when I first posted.
Thanks for the update. I didn't realize that was driven by Chambers. Must have been George Chambers the GM of the Porsche store. I wasn't sure I liked those wheels at first but when I went to see the car in person I really grew to love them.
Yes, the Navigation is there. That was a key feature for me. I will never own another car without it. Would have been great to meet your neighbor. But I got a great deal, and I wanted the CPO warranty out to 100K miles which I only can get on the dealer CPO program. I'll be putting a lot of miles on this car.
I'm really enjoying the car. I put winter tires and wheels on it so I've been driving daily. But I can't wait until April when I put those black lobsters back on. And of course drop the top! I have a couple of minor issues which I will get fixed soon. The service indicator just came on, even though Chambers assured me that it was serviced prior to selling to me. They forgot to reset the indicator! So I have to bring it in.
