Edgy, your car already has a cold air intake...it't stock. What Schnell, Fabspeed and Evo argue is that the ribbed air intake tube causes turbulent air that there kits smooth out the air flow.

I use the stock air box but put in a BMC filter. I did the Home Depot kit deal with a rubber plumbing hose too and noiced a little more sound and no improvment in power. I did not expect any power improvment but the sound is cool..bling bling!

Thanks. I have enough sound with the PSE (and being a cab) that I don't think I could stand anymore.

I added the evoms kit to my PSE and it woke up the exhaust .. there is no more muffled sound from the lower rpms (1000 - 3000) and thats with button unclipped.
And you can hear a loud sucking sound at 5000 - 6000rpm.

I still think its a bit too quiet for my tastes, next step .. 200cell cats.

Vertex (schnell) was one of our dealers and now they have taken many of our designs for themselves, including the 996/997 CAI

So keep that it mind and contact us for the parts that were originally designed and tested for these cars

If you want loud go with the Fabspeed Muffler Bypass pipes. I installed them on my C4S. They droned so badly on the highway that my wife made me take the pipes off and put them in my "For EBay" pile.

Nothing from Home Depot or sponsors to slightly increase the already great sound of my 997S is going on my engine that may or may not trip the CEL or void the warranty.

If it didn't come from Stuttgart it ain't going in my $94,355 Carrera.

Thats my take on all this bolt on **** with false claims.
