Question Funky burning smell from rear whel area?

Hi All,
Took a short 10 mile drive this eve. and when I garaged the car I could smell a burning rubber type smell. Weird. Car only has 600 miles. I have the P Zeros.

Ideas?
Thanks

Could be cosmoline...it can take several thousand miles to burn through this.

I'm at 3k miles and still smell it. Just think of it as a the German version of the new car smell.

My 05 still had the smell at 13000 miles. The 06 has it too, although not as strong. It smells so much like rubber that I always suspected that it was little bits of rubber from the rear tires coming off and melting on the exhaust.

Could it be that you turned off PSM and did a 4,000 RPM clutch dump, leaving a long patch of rubber on the road JK...

I had wondered at one point about removing the cosmoline but it apparently helps protect the exposed alum. engine parts after it bakes on. I can tell you that breathing in the fumes will induce a state of euphoria not unlike..(insert the name of your favorite intoxicant here). The brain damage is nimminal.

Hey everyone...thanks. I'm pretty damn sure there is nothing wrong with the car, but I figured I would ask. My car drives so sweet!! Sooooo much nicer than my sweet 2003 C2 ever drove or felt. But it sure is a strange rubbery kind of smell.

And Ron, I wished I left a long patch of rubber on the road, but I use my Ford truck for that.
