At the risk of sounding arrogant or......
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far way (1970s), my friend detailed cars for Beverly Hills Porsche and from time to time, I was part of his staff. Our competition was Bill Lazolier (sure I have spelled it wrong, but So Cal car guys know who I am talking about). As the years have passed, I no longer have the time (or the back muscles) to do this myself, and I was wondering if you (specifically OCBen) could recommend someone to do my car? It is an 05 997 Arctic Silver I bought used recently, with a clear bra front end.

Werkstatt German Based? Maybe in name only.

Mostly mfg by ouside chemical companies, quite a few detailing supplies are just re-badged from several larger companies.

Same here!!! I needed a real good detailer located in Los Angeles area...Been paying $180 @ Rusnak dealer and it's so so. Don't mind paying the price, just wanted the wet look that can last at least 2 wks...

You might want to ask Snoopy for someone in your area, as she seems to be happy with her detail guy who works the LA area. I would only know guys down here in OC.

There's a few guys here who can maybe recommend someone they personally use.

There was a thread I believe that discussed local detail guys in the LA area. I'll see if I can find it.

A quality detailer is worth traveling for, and I will, if they are the REAL thing....Thanks, OCBEN.

BTW, Lazolier used to get $1k for detailing already prisine cars for Pebble Beach, back in the 1990s....

You might want to shoot a PM to Pete Lech (that's his username here). I think he might know better than I would as to who is most highly recommended. He is involved with our local PCA Concours and probably knows who would know if he doesn't himself.

For those in Ventura County, here's the thread I was apparently thinking about:

Heck, I'll consider doing it for $1k.

It'll take me about 6-8 hrs but I can have it concours ready in about that time, depending on the condition of the paint. And that includes using my Makita rotary polisher to get the paint perfectly smooth and free of any microscratches. I'd just have to find the time to be able to squeeze it in my schedule.

JeffsWerkstatt is from Carlack, one of the German sealant companies that also mfg "other" sealants.

Never mind my previous post.

You can see more at carlackusa.com and lookie here... The car in the background?
