That's what I was afraid of...

Pacific Porsche in South Bay told me there was a kit out there but they didn't elaborate.

Try Parrot 3200. I haven't install yet but thinking about it.

The local installer has done one on a 997S and he said it works well. Unit was mounted on the right side of the navigation screen.

I will pass if it can't be integrated...just have to wear an ear piece.

Other people on this board have recommended blue ant....it is a hands free unit that clips to your visor. cost about $100 and works great. The parrot can be integrated into the speaker system, but my auto electronics guy was going to charge $500 to do it. Not worth it in my opinion.

I keep hoping Porsche will have fully functional integrated bluetooth before I upgrade the 996.

I really didn't know I wanted it until I recently got an Audi A6 with built in bluetooth, and it's probably my favorite technology application of the last 5 years. It makes even more sense in a manual transmission car like a Porsche. Bluetooth headsets are a poor substitute for an integrated car kit, in my opinion.

Agreed, my M3 and X3 have it and it is so much better than a headset. Not only the fact in a few years researchers will find that bluetooth headsets cause brain tumors or such...who knows.
