Default First DIY Oil Change...

Pretty standard stuff for the most part until I was ready to refill. I ended up going with a long funnel tube to accomodate the horizontal filler line and cap which was really hard to open buried in that plastic housing. After the first case of oil, I was frustrated and couldn't understand what Porsche was thinking with this slow filling system. No wonder dealers charge so much for an oil change, just filling it back up takes 30 minutes. Then I decided to look at the owners manual to see if I was missing something. My GF is still laughing at me; said something about not being able to get it up....

Just unsnap the filler tube from the clip that holds it captive. Makes the job a lot easier.

Yes, I assumed that after consulting the owners manual you figured it out but wasn’t sure considering it took you 30 minutes to pour fresh oil into the engine when it should have only taken a couple of minutes.

When I changed my oil I noticed that part of the oil filler tube was made like an accordion so as to allow articulation and saw that the oil filler tube was attached to the air filter housing with a large clip. I was only pointing out the obvious that the oil filler tube was made to be disconnected from the tight confines of the air filter housing to allow easier access.
