Any information about the torque on the X51? Are the HP figures conservative, or fairly accurate? Anyone driven a 'standard' 355 hp S back to back with 381 hp X51? Suppose you want AWD and natural aspirated? Probably very limited, if any, track time. Daily driver in Northeast.

My 911 S has X-51, my brother's 911 S doesn't. Two weeks ago I drove them both back to back. From a dead stop it's tough to feel any differance. At higher RPM's, from around 5000 on, mine seems to pull harder.
From memory the torque on the X-51 is 302 ft lbs.

Hi,
It looks like the X51 package has more stuff then just HP.
Check this link out.

I've got some first person experience.
I put 16,000+ miles on a 2005 C2S w/ the standard 3.8. Then I changed to a 2006 C4S with x51 that I now have 6,000+ miles on. I drove both the same style... hard w/ the RPMs targeting 4000-5000 so that the power curve is always at it's most potent on the throttle up and up shift. And I can feel the difference blindfolded. No question.
The turbo wasn't available to be ordered new a year ago... and still isn't from my dealer if you're not one of the next 4 people on the list.

As an alternative, I raced my stock S against a friends slightly modified S the other night. I was surprised he pulled me as strongly as he did especially in the lower part of the rev band. By 4th gear he was 2 lengths ahead and still pulling away. He had Evolution Motorsports Stage 4 package which sells for $6,700. The difference between their Stage 1-3 packages and the Stage 4 is simply more exhaust options. The Stage 2 for $2,750. is probably where I'm headed....

But what if you are not going to be driving at that "GT3 edge"?
I'll take the comfort and performance of my X-51 C2S any day - I drive mine ALL the time
