I didn't think the remote trunk feature worked when the car was running. Did you try to duplicate while the car was idling to see if you could open it with the remote? Can you even manually open the trunk when the car is running using the lever on the floor? I guess I'll have to try all this too.

Why do people keep saying "front" trunk?? How many trunks does a 911 have, anyway? It's like saying "front battery", or "center brake pedal". There's only one, and we all know where it is. Just say TRUNK.

Water on the switch will do it. When the rain water drips in off the windshield and drops down around the switch, this will trigger it - an electrical connection/short is made. I was once driving and the hood constantly openned, until I dried the switch.

Update...I took my car into the dealer for its first oil change and had them address the trunk issue. This is a known problem and they found a bulletin that addressed some type of coding issue in the control unit and performed "recode per 4/06 EAU".
