LOL ... We'll have to wait for draxa's scorecard for that.

Rick, I apologize if I ruffled your feathers there. As you apparently know by now, draxa has been complaining about the boring civility (yawwwwn) in the forum lately. He was challenging us to start something and you fell into our trap. (Johnny, your beaver was for the trap, I mean hers - oh never mind.)

So on behalf of all us here who were in on it, I apologize again for any hard feelings.

Btw, here's another excellent thread on jacks that was posted here a few weeks ago:

Take a look at this. It's reasonably priced. I have four of the jack stands.

Ben, I'm sorry but that doesn't count.
It's clear in the rules: #56(b) says 'Premeditated spleen-venting or faux-cussedness when directed toward another forumist is NOT EVER construed as a breakdown of cordialty, no matter how much bile said spleen actually vents."
So there.

I'm afraid the spleen only vents blood,....it's the gall bladder that vents bile! And of course the *** vents its own flavors.

Based on that interpretation, I'd agree that this crowd is seriously "touched".

And I feel right at home.

Okay, enough of this tom-foolery - has anyone ever beaten my minus 1 degree record for hazardous (tire-changing) duty?

Oh...and to add insult to injury, I couldn't replace the destroyed tire with a exact duplicate because Goodyear is out on strike.

Can't say I've beaten the -1 tire change,....but about 15 years ago I was stopped by the Truckee police in my SO's car and forced to put chains on before going up the mountain road....it was a brutal hour long process in a gas station parking lot but fortunately I was steamed enough that I didn't feel the cold,.... as it turned out, the cop was absolutely correct....a few miles up that road there was some deep white stuff.

Following OCBen's advice, I picked up a Costco jack today and it looks like quite a bargain:

Arcan 2 ton
all aluminum
3.5" low / 19.25" high reach
wide, rubber-cushioned saddle
$99.99
looks sturdy & well built enough to lift my house
