Best,
I actually used that on the other side of my garage too! Let's go back and talk about that $500 piece of painted plastic we have in our car

Best,
I tried the foam rubber pipe insulation initially to solve my wife's problem of banging the wall with the door. After about 6 months if daily abuse, the foam rubber pipe insulation was torn to shreads, and that was when I went with the wall protector similar to the one Deanski suggested.

I have a pole in the middle of the garage that I wrapped with carpeting. Works very well and has saved me many times.

I have these. Put them on the side wall of the garage where the door would hit. They work great and just stick onto the wall. http://www.smarthome.com/71861.html

I believe I have the cheapest solution.

I grabbed a used one of these "noodles" that kids use to swim with, slit it lengthwise so it formed a "semi-circle" and cut it in half. Cut it in half and glued each half on a side of the car.

For all us cheap P-fukes, here's a good thing to use in conjunction with foam protection on the wall. That way you'll roll to roughly the same spot each time before you open the door. Get them at Ace or here: http://www.ipiproducts.com/parkingtarget/

I know, I know the $10 will probably blow your budget

I don't know about the rest of you, But I'm not going to glue anything to the side of my car. ;-)

I've got you all beat on the cheap scale.

I use nothing but air - i.e. nothing at all! ... I just happen to have a large enough garage.
Of course, I had to buy a million dollar plus home to get that.

Default Air

As soon as my order arrives my solution will be the same as Ben's (air).

Will park my daily driver in the single parking slot and the Carrera will sit smack dab in the middle of the double parking slot!
