Default Illuminated door sills question

Maybe i'm missing it, but are the lighted door sills not in the porsche configurator? I see the carbon sills there but it doesn't say if they are lighted. Is stainless the only way to get them lighted?

Not sure, but I believe SS is the only option for the lighted sills. I considered them but opted for the straight SS sills.

I have them in my C2S. They were from factory at that time.

If I'm correct, I think it is now a dealer installed item as opposed to factory. Check with your dealer to see if this is true.

I like mine. They too are stainless steel and emit a light blue hue to the script.

Regards,
Deanski

I have them in my car. I ordered them with the car and I believe they were installed at the factory rather than the dealer, but I don't really know for sure.

I think they're pretty cool looking. My wife was worried they might look kind of cheesy but she likes them too. Everyone who has seen the car comments on them (all good comments).

They're put on at the factory and they look damn cool. Have a violet/blueish color to them. Even cooler at night!

Chris - I don't think the ill door sills were ever in the Porsche on-line configurator. There's a ton of options that the on-line thing does not have (like all the little leather bits for example). They are in the order guides, current versions of which can be found at Renntech.org. I really do like the way they look - day or night you can't help but look at them when you get in the car. I guess it's my hidden bling item.

The code was CXB, and I have never seen the option on the configurator, but I found it in the printed option list from the dealer (similar to code 666 for the phone). It is/was a factory option so the simplest thing to do is add it to the options you order, and if it is accepted then it will be a factory install. They SHOULD automatically put the correct one in (Carrera vs Carerera S vs 4S etc, but you can ask Dave about that.....). Also you can get carbon fibre illuminated as well, but the code is different.
