Question Paint it black

I have a black 997 cab with the lobster wheels and I'm thinking of painting them black. What do you think? I like the wheel style but not the color. Any of you have a photos of this on your car? Any advice on the painting itself? Flat, glossy, places to get it done?

I like the way your car looks a lot pugnacious. Looks like you didn't do the rims? Should I do mine black? Looks like you have the colored Crest in the middle. Did you have them paint around that? Where did you have it done?

The factory painted wheels all have the chrome rims and painted crest.

Sorry, don't know. I got mine from the factory - option CDB, Carrera S wheels in black. Cost about $1900. I suspect that any proficient wheel company could do it.

Call Wheel Enhancement in L.A. (Culver City); they can probably paint them properly - great guys I have done business with for at least a dozen years. (They may also be able to do a swap so that you are not out your wheels [in more ways than one] for long.) (No affiliation, just very happy customer.)

Black on black will most definitely look great. Just have them done rite. Even if it costs.

Default Here are some other images of the factory option on my car

It is factory option code CDP on my 07 AS C2S. Note the outermost rims are not chrome but the std. silver paint. They do not show brake dust as much as the normal silver rims but are still a PITA to keep clean.

Does anyone else think the cars look lowered with the painted rims? I like the look, although as jjl said, "to each their own." If anyone knows where I could get my lobsters painted in eastern Canada, I'd appreciate a note... I have a Guards Red C2S that I think would look sweet with black lobsters.
