I don't know what makes a car a "girlie car" but I do notice more female drivers in certain cars than male drivers

I agree 100% with the "It's so cute" criterion - if a girl says that about a car, it is a chick car.
I used to have an S2000 - some people thought it was a chick car, others didn't. I didn't give a **** - it revved to 9,000 rpm.

My wife loves her Boxster S. Actually, I do, too.
But, she does refer to her Tiptronic transmission as a "chicktronic."
So, there ya go.

The "box" houses the oracle of modern humans... a TV.
No shipping. No tax.
Hail the Internet!

But the real reason is, ever since you replaced Kate Hudson's ***** with Borat's *** there really wasn't any joy left in my life. So I've turned bitter.

Ahhhh ..... Stephanie Seymore.
Hey, talk about a nice ***, she's famous for having one! .... Now if you could only dig up a shot of hers, all would be fine with the world!

I've always referred to every car I've owned as "her" or "she" - I guess I've always had girlie cars.

You can flip it and ask when is car too "macho" for women to consider owning? Or the kind of car only a lesbian would drive? Or the kind of car gay men would never be seen in etc.?
I'm just looking for the clues and cues that will help designers of other products have some sense of what the design principles of sexual identity are.

Actually, Porsche has been working to make their cars more suitable for women,--reducing the spring rates on their clutches, and steering assist, etc. They know that they always have the male market, but have been working for some time to gain in the female side. How are they doing, ladies?

Le Chef,
I will try to give you a serious answer to this. It will probably start a flame but that is not my intention. I am sure people will argue with me on certain points and they are entitled to their opinions.
1) any sports car with a tip regardless of performance improvement over manual is more feminine than a stick.
2) any sports car with a tip/cab combo is not just girlie, it is very effiminate times 2. And if your excuse is, "my wife can drive it," it's effiminate times 4.
3) any car in lowest build category, ex, boxster is girlie. boxster S is cool. (this is because MEN get the "S" stuff that women will not pay for.
4) "Some" cars in "Some" colors. A red Miata is feminine. A red 911Turbo is not. Basically, if your going to say it loud, make sure your saying something other than, "look at me". If your car says "look at me" and the car is nothing to look at, it's effiminate.
by looking at the standards above, we can start to see a small pattern.
Feminine:
1) A red/boxster/tip
Masculine:
1) A red/911Turbo/Manual
Borderline:
A red Boxster S.. If it's manual, it's border line masculine (if it were black, then very masculine.) If it's tip, it's VERY girlie.
Shall I go on?
