Skid Plate/Pads for 997S?
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a skid plate/pad for underneath the front bumper on a 997/997S? I'm lucky that I havent scraped mine yet on my 997S but I feel like its gonna happen sooner or later on a parking lot stop or speed bump, etc. and might as well deal with it sooner vs. later. Any thoughts on this?

Sorry for the delay. It took me awhile to getting around to shooting this. It's the one available from Performance Products.

That's how they mounted the ED front plate? Which part of the bumper is the bracket attached to?

You guys,--I can't get a thing past you!
I developed a custom attachment point so that a 997S without a center cooler doesn't have to suffer from mounting holes. The mount is on the center filler panel. From that I have a pair of hinge pieces to which the Euro back plate is attached. I can also run a regular bra without the plate cutouts.
I'm developing an active anti-laser capability for the front plate. The hinge design is part of the design.

My front bumper is getting chewed by the incline angle getting into my driveway. Angling in minimizes but does not eliminate it. I am pretty sure the city will not let me mess with the concrete on the right of way.
I was looking at the Performance Products skid pad. How is it installed? It appears to screw into the bottom of the front bumper with 8-10 screws. If this is correct, are they machine screws with backing nuts?
I would do the installation myself, so are there any other issues I need to be aware of?
Thanks!

I put 13 countersunk bolts in with locknuts backing them into the bottom of my front nose piece. The easiest way to do this (and really the best) is to remove the front bumper. To do it right you need a couple more bolts than they give you.
See my picture for a better placement of the bolts.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I have the same skid plate as Dan and it has saved the underside of my front bumper countless times.
My brother-in-law just bought a 997.2. I went on the Automotion website and it appears that skid plates are no longer available.
Does anyone know of an alternate source?
Thanks.

You can buy 1/4" nylon sheet stock in 12"x48" sheets. You would need to make a patern and drill/counter sink the mounting holes. A 12"x48" sheet would be about $75 depending on the grade selected.
