Pretty cool, would love something louder than what I have now. It is much wimpier than what I had on the Boxster.

That may be over-kill, but the 997 does have a pretty wimpy horn.
I've thought about replacing it, but it hasn't exactly been a priority.
I think I've used my horn about twice. (This is L.A., not N.Y.)

Yeah, that's been a beef of mine and just about everybody who's used their horn.
It's actually embarrassing to have such a wimpy horn and so I try to avoid using it
unless absolutely necessary.

One of these days I'll replace mine, and if no one has done it by then, I'll put together
a DIY so others can do the same if they so wish.

I cannot stand the horn in my car, so I replaced it with this
Griot's Italian Air Horn
I had it on my Boxster as well. It sounds great, just like the horns on most Italian cars.

Was the horn easy to replace? I've replaced horns on other cars and really had a difficult time with placement and fit. Also, are the connections interchangable?

Yes, how difficult is it to replace the horn on our 997s?
Is it a DIY project for the "reasonably handy" (able to identify a Phillips Head Screwdriver)?
