That may be over-kill, but the 997 does have a pretty wimpy horn.
I've thought about replacing it, but it hasn't exactly been a priority.
I think I've used my horn about twice. (This is L.A., not N.Y.)

Yeah, that's been a beef of mine and just about everybody who's used their horn.
It's actually embarrassing to have such a wimpy horn and so I try to avoid using it
unless absolutely necessary.
One of these days I'll replace mine, and if no one has done it by then, I'll put together
a DIY so others can do the same if they so wish.

I cannot stand the horn in my car, so I replaced it with this
Griot's Italian Air Horn
I had it on my Boxster as well. It sounds great, just like the horns on most Italian cars.
