Default Just Ordered '07

I have owned a 996 C2 cab since new in 2001. Have had the time of my life driving that car in the Colorado mountains. First thing I did was go to PDE in Birmingham a couple of years ago. So, up until now, I've been lurking the 996 board, looking foward to the day that the 997 board was more meaningful.

I ordered a new '07 C2S Cab yesterday, cobalt blue with a bunch of goodies. January build, March delivery. Now the wait begins.

This board has been extremely helpful in better understanding the car. You all have helped me decide model, options, prices, even color.

Thanks for all the help. Now I get to look forward to PDE Master's class. Pix forthcoming in a few months.

Meaningful, as in, it applies to me! I've been drooling over the 997 for some time and would visit the 997 board 'in anticipation.' Not that my '01 996 isn't great but I have a hunch that the P car driving experience is going to get notched up a level!

Now, the 997 board takes on a different meaning.

Default Wait Wait Wait

Ah yes, the long wait for your spec car. Boy do I remember my wait for the C2S I ordered! All the times checking with the dealer for those magic codes.

Now's the time to look at every little Exclusive/Tech etc option before it gets locked.

I wanted to change the wheels to painted and paint the backs of the seats, but I was too late and order was locked into pre-production.

Also, it's a great time to obtain your car-car products. Sealants, waxes, dressings etc. Get new sets of microfiber towels and lambskin mitts etc.

Purchase some 0w-40w Mobil-1 as you will go through some during break-in. Keep her below the 4K RPM for the 2000 mile period to avoid future issues.

Wonderful color by the way! Hope you got PSE and a short shifter.

Keep us up to date!!!

Regards,
Deanski

Actually stocked up on most of that stuff for my 996 but a new set of microfibers and a new lamb mitt is a good idea.

Can't order the short shifter anymore from the factory. It is now a dealer installed feature. PSE, sport chrono, nice seats, etc. are in the package. I haven't seen a cobalt with a black top and interior. Most are gray. My existing 996 is Deep Forest Green with a gray interior so I needed a bit of a change.

Anyone seen the cab cobalt ext./black interior and top combo?

Sky - congrats on your order and Welcome! Your Deep Forest Green 996 is a rather "rare" color. It would be great if you could post some pics here, or even better, on the 996 Forum. It is always nice to see P-cars in "different" colors.

Here are a couple of photos (not great) of my '01 996 cab.

Notice the built in SR1 radar detector below the speedo.

Thanks. Dealer says someone's either gonna hate it or love it. I have always thought it is a great color combination. I guess I like the unusual...hence, the new '07 is cobalt.

The trade in value was pretty horrible but my timing wasn't great, either. Selling an '01 Cab in November in Colorado isn't a no-brainer.
