Right seat viberates
My right seat vebrates when at idle, driving,,,,all the time the engine is running and I have seen a post on how to fix it. My dealer does not know. Can anyone help?

they all do. i just went thru this with the shop i go to and the dealer. the car vibrates at idle and hums a bit at speed thru the body. i drove a few 997S with similar mileage to test it at the dealer and they all do it. some worse than others. if you are sensitive to stuff like that its annoying. many people dont notice it at all

My 4S seems to have gotten worse over the last few months. Everything else about the car has improved markedly by 5000 miles - the freaking seat noise has gotten worse.
Guess I have to find a spare hottie to just sit in the seat and stop the rattle... I'd turn up the stereo, but it would mask the exhaust note. <g>

It's probably not caused by something blindingly obvious that's easy for a tech to see which is why it's hard to fix.
I wonder if it has to do with uneven tire wear and a subsequent slight out of balance problem that is creating a harmonic that causes the seat to vibrate in sympathy. I also wonder whether it's tied to the particular suspension bushings that PASM equiped cars use.

Ben, awesome icon shot!
Right, but my car is not bad at idle; but on a bumpy road at speed... seems like the seat back is shaking in reponse to some resonance. OTHO, the car is perfectly stable, just the seat is buzzing... oh, and the damned pass side seatbelt hanger on the B-pillar.

Sorry Ben, if it's at idle then it's likely a harmonic from the engine mounts.
The only real solutions practical would be: change the angles of the seat back and seat base (and position longitudinally) to change the vibration path, or put something on the seat itself that has some weight to it. A beautiful woman would work pretty well...

Well, my LEFT hand seat vibrates at idle. Weird, huh?
You know that thing about water draining down the plug? That it swirls clock-wise in the northern hemisphere and anti-clockwise in the southern? I guess it's something like that.

I'm thinking that because I live EAST of the Greenwich meridian (only just, mind you, a mere 20' east to be exact) and you guys are WEST, that's maybe why my left hand side seat wobbles attractively at idle. Perhaps if I drive due west, when I cross that ole meridian......or maybe its because we sit on the other side of the car. Yeah, maybe its that.
