Default Bouncy, bouncy......

I got into my C2S to drive home this evening and within 100 metres realised something was wrong. Thought it was a puncture but wasn't.
The car felt really 'bouncy', hopped along the road and felt quite unsafe (at really low speeds). Pressing 'Sport' didn't help at all.
The car is 9,000miles old.
Anybody got any clues? Perhaps a failure in PASM syatem? It happened between going to work and coming home.;

Check your tire pressures when the tires are cold. Has the weather suddenly changed?

If it was PASM failing surely it would show up on the dash with a warning light.

Ask the dealer to use PIWIS on the car to see if it can spot some supsension failure.

Oh its WAY worse than that. Almost as if the physical connection between body and chassis is unstuck.

Sounds like another PASM problem.

Is it the same at both ends of the car? Is it the same side to side? Does it feel as if the car is "crabbing" at all? Does it pull up straight?

Just wondering if a suspension bolt has worked its way lose.

So my car went back to the dealer to investigate the 'bouncing'. I collected it today; they'd repalced both front struts (what we used to call shock-absorbers way back when....). It seems they had detected significant 'play' there.

I asked if this was unusual as my experience was that these ought to last 50-60,000 miles. They confirmed that it was indeed most unusual. Very nice Porsche dealership, no questions asked and no charge. The car's brilliant again. Better, in fact, than before. Tighter in the front.

But out of interest; this is a car with 9,000 miles on the clock. Anybody else had this strut 'failure' or heard the like?

No experience with this, but thank you for getting back to us about the outcome. This type of thread is very useful.

Glad you car is now the way it is meant to be. It must be almost like getting a new one.
