Default Porsche Car seat

My Son just turned 1 this past weekend and he is obsessed with my car. Everytime I take him outside he points to the garage and makes car sounds. I want to get a porsche car seat for the rear so he can take him for rides. Anyone have the porsche junior seat with the foam pat that goes across their body. Just looking for some feedback on this seat.

I have the Porsche car seat. My 2 and a half year old son has used it since he was one. I thought he would hate that huge piece of foam. It never bothers him. We have the Britax in his mom's SUV with"comfortable straps". He always asks to go in daddy's racecar. Sometimes we have to hide my car so he is willing to go in the SUV. When he gets in the 911 he sits down and immediately raises his hands so I can put the foam piece in place. The seat is great. I would definitely recommend it.

My kids hated the cross brace. Fortunately, they are all big for their age and so I could quit using it almost immediately. That seat does seem to fit in the back of the 996 better than the others I have tried. 996 and 997 are close enough that my experience should be relevant . . .

I have the seat. I had another seat that was too wide for the 997 rear seats so I had to buy the Porsche seat. My daughter used that foam pad until she was about 3. When she'd sleep, she would cross her arms across the pad and lay her head on it.

Can the foam pad be removed. I'm also reading that teh seat does not fit too secure in teh back seat of the 997 and that you have to cut teh carpet and ancor the top from going forward. Is this all true?
