PCM on without radio on?
Am I losing it? Just got my car back from having the rear bumper replaced and noticed that anytime the PCM screen is on the radio is on - no matter what screen I'm using.
I know I've been without my car for about 10 days, but I thought I remembered using the main screen without having to have the radio on.
I've re-read the sections of the PCM manual regarding the screens and the radio. I've also read more than 100 threads I found via the search mode. I can't find anything on this topic.
Have I just been with my car too long and forgot?

Unfortunately, selecting "mute" takes more than just hitting a "mute button." While the PCM is a far cry from BMW's complicated-for-no-good-reason iDrive, it's still not as intuitive as it could be.
At least the 987 has a dedicated button marked "mute."
On my 997 I just turn the volume down - not exactly a hardship.

On the interactive steering wheel, you just push the volume control wheel and it's "mute" .
( they give you a lot of those nice extra features when you spend a little more ) Lol
