I bought my first 997 used from Porsche of Roanoke (http://roanoke.porschedealer.com/) and drove it back to Texas. Josh there was great to deal with. Long story, but six months later I found myself buying a new 997S. This time I bought closer to home... in Austin, and drove it back to Houston. On both of these purchases I think I did better than I could in Houston. It is worth shopping around a little outside of the big markets. And, I gaurantee the drive home with your new car will be one of the most memorable ones you will ever have.

IMO Porsche of Arlington and Tischer are the best in the DC area. Porsche of Rockville is now owned by Sonic and has (I'm sad to say) gone way downhill. Sounds you like went to HBL- some say good things some say bad. I bought my last Porsche there but don't think I would ever do so again (four hours of non stop selling- AFTER I bought the car). Buying from Tischer was very pleasurable same for P of A.
As others note there are a great many dealers "close by"- from Baltimore to Richmond. You may want to PM PCA Potomac folks (or go to dorkiphus.com) as many local dealers are PCA Potomac sponsors hence not much is publicly said on the board.

Richmond ( Euroclassics in Midlothian) never call me back after showing interest in a car they had. All they had to do was reschedule a test drive. It was raining the day I went down. Their cars are way over priced and I just laugh when I go and look at there website
Porsche of charlottesville have great people working for them. They will treat you great. I will buy from them again and again
PS. I do not work for them and have never worked for them.

A related question- has anyone ever dealt with Euroclassics in Midlothian? They seem to put together stunning color combinations.

I bought my 05 997 coupe from Porsche of Arlington. Good experience. Nice dealer. Good price especially for a CPO vehicle with exactly what I wanted. Had alot of 06' and 07 997's on the lot when I was in last week picking up a keychain. Great service so far not that I have needed any but they went ahead and did my initial service when I purchased the car at no charge since it was due in another 1500 miles. If you need to PM me and I'll give you the sales manager's name and my sales guy who worked my deal.
