Default 997 Sandy Beige Leather Q.

Hi all. I'm searching for an '05 C2S and have primarily been looking at black or gray leather interiors. I've seen the beige leather in early 2000 model 996's and it looks terrible when it's aged a bit. Several I've seen are borderline yellow even.

Today, I found a beautiful car that I really like, but it has a beige interior. Given the color combo, I think I would even like it. My question is: did Porsche use better leather in the 997 and is there any chance that if I buy this car, I'll have a yellow interior in 2 years?

Thanks

I don't know about a difference in actual leather, but I know that the beige in the 997's is a different color than the beige that was in the 996's.

I was never a big fan of the beige in the 996's as it was too much of a mustardy color. On the other hand the Savannah beige that is available in the 997's is great. I had it in my 987S and loved it. Much more of a subtle beige IMHO.

Savannah was in the 996's, Sand Beige in the 997 I think. Agree the Savannah is very yellowish, the Sand is much more neutral, and nicer. First I've heard anyone voicing concerns about premature aging of the beige interior.

Yes, Phil is right.
Savannah Beige was the 996 mustardy color.
Sand Beige is the new beige that I think is great....especially for a convertible.

Thank you very much guys. It definitely looks more earthy than yellow in the cars I've seen. What's sticking in my mind is a beautiful GR 996 X50 turbo I looked it. Got to the car, opened the door and then EWWWWW.....yellow interior. It broke my heart.

Same thing happened to me with a 996TT.

In fact I was dead-set to get my GR 997S with a black interior ... until I saw the new tan. I love the tan and bought it.

That particular car was in SoCal when I saw it. It then got sold to a dealer in WA state where it now sits. Very odd that it followed me around (I'm in Vancouver BC). Go figure.
