Default Thoughts on Schnell Exhaust?

Yes, I've read the numerous exhaust posts but couldn't find any real feedback on the Schnell. The price is definitely right and I live close to Vertex Auto so it it makes sense from a financial and geographical perspective but I can't seem to come up with good info (i.e. sound, quality etc.). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Andrew go for it. The product is private labeled and sold thru other forum sponsors. At a greater cost.

I like the collector design with there headers.

Yeah...I'm gonna pull the trigger within the next week or so (purchase from Vertex auto here in Florida and have them do the install as well). I was hoping to get a bit of "sound" feedback from another 997 owner with the Schnell but I guess I'm out of luck on that one. Anyway thanks for all of your help, the car is running great!

Have you purchased the Schnell system yet? Many of us are waiting for some real world feedback.

Yes, I had it installed it on my previous C2 back in October. Here is my take:

1) Nice construction and welds....also lighter than stock.

2) At WOT in the upper RPMs the car sounded very nice and aggressive

3) Probably gives a few more HP

4) Resonance at lower RPMs got on my nerves

5) Droning at highway speeds also didn't thrill me

6) Deep throaty sound was a bit more V8 than Flat-6

All in all, I would say that it sounds similiar to a few other aftermarket exhausts I've heard but in my opinion, falls short of PSE and Tubi when it comes to sound (both much more expensive). Anyway, I've come to love the sound of my stock C2S exhaust and have no intention of going aftermarket again. IMHO, it wasn't for me. I hope this helps.

“Resonance” and “droning at highway speeds” seems to be a common issue with some after-market exhaust systems. I have read similar comments on the 996 Forum about after-market exhaust systems.

Sorry that didn't work out for you!

The information is greatly appreciated. No wonder that so many forum members have gone the PSE route.
