Default Mp3 or Ipod or CD changer????

I need help. I recently purchased a 997 without the NAV and without the CD changer. In the past cars, I have had the CD changer and thought it was nice.

I am tired of driving and changing CDs, so I have been reading about Ipods and Mp3 players. I have read that you can get them to player through the speakers, but in some posts, people are saying they can be integrated into the PCM's controls.

I have done the searches, but I am a little confused because of the different options and what is needed in the car, ie. NAV, CD Changer.

Can anyone tell me what options I might have with my specific car, so I can refine my research.

Thanks in advance.

i would wait for the ipod adapter (email Eric from BumperPlugs.com to get on the list) and then just go the ipod route
no nav is no problem, you'll still get the display

what's a CD-changer?

i called my dealer and, apparently, there's no longer an 8-track option for the 997

j/k

seriously, try the mp3s you'll love it and it will be time well spent to learn how to do it

as mjones said, you can get burn an mp3 CD and play in most newer PCMs
that will give you more songs than a cd-changer

if you get hooked and want more, then you can carry around all of your CD collection on an 80gig ipod and get the ipod adapter (assuming it will EVENTUALLY be released, lol)

cheers

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I figured that someone who could make fun of himself could take a little additional ribbing!

Default MP3

Just a quick note for the guys who do not know. I believe that all the 2005 and 2006 C2 and C2s are MP3 compatible. I have a 2006 C2S and just burn a MP3 CD with 100 songs on it. That is more songs then a Six Disc changer would hold. Itunes lets you burn songs to MP3 if you choose, instead of AAC files.

I figured that one disc with 100 songs is cheaper then a Six Disc changer and Ipod interface. Just in case you guys did not know.
